This painting represents the dining room of the house of Juliette Drouet in Guernsey, Hauteville II towards the chimney wall but, strangely, this view appears reversed left-right when compared to the photograph of the same place (MVHPPH3673), the painter having cependnat restores initials.
This small view of the dining room of Hauteville II, heading north-east wall and chimney painted by Edmond Palézieux in 1883, the year of the death of Juliette Drouet, is eerily reversed like a mirror, without anyone knowing the reason. However, the information it delivers consistent with what can be observed on the objects themselves, regarding their colors and photographs in respect of them. This painting seems reliable for details and can therefore follow some additional disclosures in relation to the photographs, especially for windows but also for the cabinet. windows side Palézieux reproduces a painted component that identifies the panel 1280 valuable indication that locates the other panels (1098.1, 1098.2, 1108.1 and 1108.2) of the same size and the same type on the iconography (a character featured on the hypertrophied heart of a flower) that was to decorate the other components. In the middle of the opposite wall, the painting indicates that the cabinet of which we see only half of the two photographs of the dining room was decorated with painted panels on its protes.
