Peter Strudel builds in this composition in a painting by Anthony van Dyck on which is detectable in the imperial collections since 1720 (now Vienna, Kunsthistorisches Museum, Picture Gallery, inv 486). Compared to this image that already Johann Michael Rottmayr had served as a model, ordered strudel his composure, however, to mirror image. Yet just this painting also reveals the formation of vortex in the studio of Johann Carl Loth in Venice by the characteristic quick painting very clearly. [Georg Lechner, 4/2010]

The over 320 year-old painting was painted by the German painter Peter Strudel. The artpiece measures the dimensions: 140 x 179 cm - sura: 158,5 x 197 x 6,5 cm.
